When is a walking surface too hot for your pup?

Jasper from Pet Wants Lubbock as a puppy. He’s 13 years-old now!

“At this time of year, it’s very important to make sure that we pet lovers know the best time of day for walking our fur children. A good rule of thumb that I use is to first touch the walking surface with the back of my hand. If the surface is too hot for my hand, then it’s also too hot for my Jasper. This is particularly true for puppies, who are even more sensitive. Walking in the early morning, late evening, or on grassy surfaces in the summer months is usually best.” ~ Dr. Anoosh
