What affects the nutrients your fur child needs?

Jasper & Bafi from Pet Wants Lubbock

“Six classes of essential nutrients are equally important for your fur children: carbohydrates, proteins, lipids (fats), water, vitamins, and minerals. They must be supplied at an “optimum” level (meaning not too much and not too little) through your pet’s food. This “optimum” level is different for cats and dogs, as well as for different breeds. It also changes depending on the age, breed size, and health state of your pet, as well as whether your pet is a pregnant or nursing mother. While too little of any nutrient can cause a nutrient deficiency, too much of a nutrient can be toxic and harm your pet’s health and longevity. Consulting with an animal/pet nutritionist about your pet’s food can often help you make the best choice for your fur child.” ~ Dr. Anoosh
